Cubital Tunnel
Important!
Cubital tunnel syndrome is a serious medical affliction that requires attention from a specialist who has direct experience treating cubital tunnel. Do not rely solely on this website, any other website, or your family doctor. Please see a hand doctor or surgeon, and get a second opinion if you have any doubts.
In trying to alleviate the early onset of CuTS, I have decided to try out an athletic elbow support of some type to give my elbow some support and also restrict extra movement during the day and also at night.
Is there any brand, type or size that someone can recommend for me?
I'm definitely in the early and preventable stages of this injury, I'm going to as many lengths as possible to prevent further injury and enhance the possibilities of a full recovery.
I've been using a solid, one-piece splint that rests on the inside of my elbow. It has two velcro straps on each end that secures it to my forearm and upper arm. That way there is no splint material or straps coming in contact with my the sensitive backside of my elbow. I usually don't even attach the strap on my upper arm, so that I can bend my elbow a little during the night to itch my nose or grab a drink.
The hand clinic custom-made this splint for me, but of course you can buy splints online and at a local pharmacy.
The key is to find a splint that will keep your elbow straight to slightly bent, perhaps 15-45 degrees, and in a handshake position.
