As you all can see, I have updated my avatar so you can see what my incision looks like at just over 4 months. Personally I can care less what it looks like, but there are many that are concerned with scars. In my job, they "come with the territory, so I don't worry about them - just the end results as they say. I have re-introduced stretching back into my daily routine, and my "sausage pinkie" is actually feeling better. I am still working the electrical side with the EMS treatments, not to mention I am still working on flexing and strength, but the stretching and extension of the fingers is actually helping more! Remember all, "baby steps" and a good attitude is the key.

Re:Post Surgical - Week XXX :-) 2 Months, 1 Week ago
In two days I hit month 5 since my surgeries. I have added as I stated in my prior post the stretching again, and too (thanks to the member that brought this up) I have started putting my fingers in the "Okay" position and stretching - that has actually helped in the reduction of the cramping!!! Thanks!

I will be doing my quarterly qualification this Friday, and I will do it without a brace - lets see how that goes - only 3 rounds (40 cal) with this hand. The bottom of my pinkie still is not fully back, but at times it doesn't feel as "fat" due to numbness. At this stage, healing is a very slow road, but I am still seeing tiny improvements. Crossing my fingers is more controllable than times of past. Err..more consistent now. I don't sleep with a brace anymore as any residual numbness while sleeping (curling it, sleeping on it etc) doesn't see to be an issue anymore. Baby steps continue.

Okay I am just short of the 6 month mark since I had my Ulnar subcutaneous transposition and too the release in my wrist and palm for Guyon's. I have found of late that if I have my hand/wrist curled for a while, I feel a lot of numbness in my pinkie and a bit of my ring finger - which makes me more of the belief that most of my problems where Guyon's. Once I do a bunch of stretching in my wrist it gets better. Just as a precaution however, I have returned to sleeping with my arm in a splint just in case... See with me, there wasn't trauma, so I don't fully know what caused my issues. I do strongly feel as time goes on that a majority was in the wrist and hand verses my elbow. But, the Tinel signs in my elbow area does support some problems in the elbow. Slow progress, but still keeping a positive attitude.

I will cross post this in my "Post Surgical - week XXX" and "Guyon's" as it is basically an update to where I am at.

Re:Post Surgical - Week XXX :-) 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Howdy Ya'll. I have discovered something today!!! Yes, sorry I am a bit excited on this discovery. There was a movie I was watching on TV - a movie I should not have been watching as I work midnights and SHOULD have been hitting the pillows mind you. There was a really cool tune on and I started rotating my hand about my wrist. Well, here is my discovery... I found that the fatness in my pinkie and a bit of my ring finger went away! I am now becoming more of the feeling that a lot of the entrapment was in my wrist and hand and only a bit in my elbow. I then as the feeling changed for the positive, did a lot of rotating flexing of my HAND and even more feeling came back in my pinkie!!!

This movement was never discussed or suggested in my physical therapy, I just "lucked" into it. I wonder... if your major problem is in the elbow (just my thoughts) - if you do some "rotations" around your elbow, does it help? I just started flipping my hand (at the wrist) up and down and around and to the side, more of my pinkie is back since the surgery. Since the surgeries, my pinkie and in the beginning my ring finger felt like little sausages. I am blown away, sorry. All of this over a tune in a movie of all things! Whaahoo! Sorry, couldn't resist.

As a safety precaution, I will still sleep with my splint (I am a curler sleeper), and too NOW that I have seen MAJOR changes in the feel of my pinkie (and too now the very tip of my ring finger came back tonight) I am sooooooo re-energized. I don't know - staying up late turned into a good thing? Love you all - just sharing new "finds." *HUGZ* all around. Sorry for all the smilies, but I am soooooo blown away with a movie tune and its effects!!!! Thanks so much for reading/listening.
