general anaesthesia 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am scheduled for my Ulnar Nerve transposition and carpal tunnel surgeries on 9-17-08..I was informed I need to be under General Anaesthesia..

I would like to hear some of your experiences with this and how you felt afterwards and how long it took you to wake up after...

Let me know..

Thanks
Teresa

Hi Teresa, I had decompression surgery in June. The general anesthesia wasn't bad. It was done by IV, burned just slightly going in. They also gave me a little gas over my nose, but it didn't smell bad like it did when I had surgery 20 years ago. Fell right asleep. Woke up about 30 minutes after surgery. A little dizzy and out of it, but not sick to my head or stomach. No after effects.

Good luck with your surgery! Please stop back and let us know how it went.

Teresa,

Similar to Timm, I too woke about 30 minutes after surgery. My reaction was much like one "waking after a good nights sleep." I didn't feel nauseous or dizzy, anything like that. I was hungry of all things!! Mine was a sleepy mode given via IV.
