Had my op 3 days ago 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi all, I had my op 3 days ago now and all is going well so far. My arm is wrapped up like a mummy and I'm managing to keep pain to a minimum with meds.
The arm that was operated on has brusing and the hand is a different colour .. pink/red.
The back of my arm is completely numb from my elbow down to my wrist... is this a normal side effect?

Thanks in advance
Helen

Hi Helen,

You're already typing after 3 days, that's impressive! What type of surgery did you have? The different types of surgeries have different results, symptoms, side effects, complications, etc.

Pain, discoloration, numbness are all common side effects in the first week or two for cubital tunnel surgery.

Good luck with your recovery!

Thanks, yeah only typing one handed at the moment!
I had nerve transposition.
Good to know all these things are normal for the first cople of weeks. I will update you as to how it goes over the next few weeks.
Helen

If any of your conditions persist, or if you feel uncomfortable about your situation you should contact and discuss with your doctor.

Tranposition is serious surgery and recovery takes a while.

Take care!

Hi, thanks .

Well it's been just around the two week mark since my surgery... I get my stitches out tomorrow.
The scar has been covered up since surgery so i'm curious as to how it will look.

I still have the numbness in my little finger but not so much pain, the numbness i've had since surgery from my elbow to mid way along my forearm is still there. Wondering if they may have cut a nerve or something.

So all in all its going quite well.I'll post pic on here soon.
