Katie, don't delay. My cuts was speeded up by an elbow fracture and my fingers clawed for about 5 months. ( I was misdiagnosed) My Sub-Q surgery was 1 yr ago Mar 25th and my fingers are still somewhat curled, numb and my hand is still a bit weak. I can only imagine what I would be by now without it.

I dont want to delay. Workers comp just takes so long to approve things I need to get done. You think they would be more helpful since thats their job-go figure. I am really not willing to take further conservative action on my elbow. Im wondering if I can just ask for surgery? What do you guys think? I have no idea when my next appt will be until workers comp gives them the ok to schedule me an MRI.

Katie,
Glad to see you met with your Ortho, and there is a bit more of a plan. As to workers comp and all. Over the years I've had many employees go down the ridiculous WC road! They delay, they don't care, they are a pain! (no pun intended of course). In simple is this, if your doctor states that surgery is emergent, then WC has almost NO leg to stand on. For if they try to impeded actions based on his diagnosis and treatment (especially surgery), they open up a whole can of whoop ass on themselves should you have injury or further damage due to their interference. So in a nutshell, your doctors diagnosis and treatment of same can be the key to how fast you can get surgery. Unfortunately a lot of doctors are doctors, and they HATE the administrative side of the house (letters and such to WC). I hope that helps. Please keep us posted. *hug*

Thanks for all the advice Brenda, I really appreciate it. Hopefully things will just get better after my MRI whenever I get it.
