My point about conservative treatment was that TX said that "" he started with symptoms (numbness & klutzy-dropping things) about 6 mos. ago ""
If he is having numbness + a weakness to the point of dropping things, then conservative treatment is useless.
Once you start dropping things, that is serious.
Maybe I wasn't very clear with my thoughts -
I was just suggesting a second opinion, because when someone has numbness + weakness to the point of dropping things, then that's the time for surgery - Not a good time for anti-flam meds, splints or exercise .........
If this guy is at the point of dropping things, then he has also lost his pinching ability too -
They go hand in hand !
Hope this clears up my comment

Thank you all for your comments.
My case is very mild. No pain. I still have normal strength in the hand, and intermittant numbness in little finger and down side of side of hand. The numbness was more severe back in May. It seems to be aggravated when on the computer.
As long as I don't curl up my arm at night, I don't have any night symptoms. I agree that it will not be cured with PT, etc, but since I've had surgery for breast cancer (none now), and double jaw surgery for sleep apnea (not overweight) - I am not wanting to rush into surgery. The dropping things I can live with for the time being.
However, if I start getting nerve pain or complete numbness I will seriously be considering the surgery.
Thanks again for all your comments.
