This is an old post, but I ran across it and found it interesting.

I have the normal symptoms of recovery that bap and jeanifaux described.

However I wanted to ask if it was also normal to have pain in the non-cubital tunnel side of the elbow after subcutaneous trans surgery.

I'm week 3 out and the outside of the elbow joint is tender along with the top forearm muscle.

Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy,

At three weeks out I also had pain and tenderness along the lateral side of my elbow. Sometimes so bad I can't lift a coffee cup. When I went for my 4 week post-op my doc did a flouroscopy and dx'd lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow). He put me in a wrist splint that I wear at night and during the day while at work. This seems to be improving somewhat. I've also been icing and elevating my arm. Also taking 600mg ibuprofen 3-4 x a day.

Chris

I am now 3 months post op from transposition surgery on my left. Surgery on my right has been postponed. I was not happy with progress & was in a fair amount of pain the more I used the arm. I went for a second opinion. After testing & x-ray, Diagnosed With cronic bilateral Tendonitis as well. I worked with sore & tired arms for over 2 years before my fingers went numb. Symptons for both RSI's are very similar and can easily be overlooked. Still going to physio for another 8 weeks, Then maybe a shot in each elbow, or surgery. Not a happy camper.
