Acupuncture 2 Years, 5 Months ago

Hi, has anyone tried acupuncture for CuTs?
I think my condition is still relatively mild. I have frequent tingling and a little bit of numbness occasionally, in both hands for a few months now. I've been doing physical therapy, ergonomic modifications, cold packs, and just finished a round of oral steroids.
I'm still hoping the steroids may have an affect but my doctor suggested acupuncture. I'm going to try it, I really don't want to have surgery.
Any comments or information on acupuncture appreciated.
Thanks

If you do a Google search, you will see multiple articles for treating CARPAL tunnel syndrome with acupuncture, but very little mention of it with CUBITAL tunnel syndrome.
I have found a couple articles where it is promoted, but they were all written by acupuncturists. I guess I'd prefer some independent confirmation.
So far I have not been able to locate any patient testimony that indicates acupuncture helps CuTS. If you try it, please let us know if it helps.

Regarding acupuncture I tried it. Had 6 sessions @65.00 per and the Dr. gave me lotions and pain patches. I can say that the first session was interesting as they put the needles in ( You can hardly feel them going in -taking them out is no big deal but will get your attention) anyway, the longer I laid there I got a deep aching sensation up and down my whole arm and when it was over the relief of that ache was over. It stayed pretty much the same for the rest of the sessions but cumulatively it didn't do too much to improve my situation. I ended up with the surgery. Try it anyway, it can't hurt you might have a different experience. Jennifaux

Hello,
I am actually going to try acupuncture as well.. I talked to a friend of mine whos father had some sort of elbow problems, not exactly sure what though. He went to 4 sessions and never felt the pains again. I am definitely going to try it. The surgery doesn't sound great :/..

Please let us know how the acupuncture works for you. I tried it once and it didn't seem to have any effect. I stopped because it was expensive since my insurance didn't cover it. But I will probably try again for a least five or six sessions as I want to try every option before even considering surgery.

Acupuncture worked a little for me. My Chinese doctor told me it would lower the threshold of pain, so immediately after, my arm ached a bit more and my hand felt warmer. But later in the day, and usually the next day, it felt better. I did 5 treatments at $80/ea. along with herbal patches and herbal oral meds. Since I wasn't seeing a drastic improvement, I decided to stop. I'm now trying Cold Laser.
