I was diagnosed with cubital tunnel about 4 weeks ago. Actually "nerve inflammation due to overuse". My EMG was allclear. But the pain is unbearable: wrist and elbow. I was taking a prescription anti inflammatory but it made me feel worse so I'm back on ibuprofen. Is relief on the way? Any suggestions? I have an appointment with a nerve specialist in a month but not sure I can make it with my sanity that long!

I'm on Motrin 800's and take waayy too many - it helps for the intense shooting pains, but not for the movement pain. I have to have surgery in both to try to correct my pain. Obviously, I don't know about your particular situation... To answer you about relief - hopefully, I think that's what we all want, but, each case is different. My Attorney expects me to have some amount of permanent disability after my surgeries.

Well, Lindsey I must have missed your original post. I am post-op (bilateral) sub-muscular transposition and had moderate pain pre-op. I have been having issue with pretty severe, shooting pain in my right arm post-op. I started taking gabapentin (neurontin) about 6 weeks ago because neither NSAIDS or narcotics really helped my pain. I started on 300mg three times a day and was increased to 600mg three times a day and am finally getting some relief. HURRAY! Gapapentin is a drug that is used for neurogenic pain. Just something to think about when you go to see your doc in a couple weeks.

I too was given a neuro drug - Meloxicam - it didn't work for my situation...too stubborn to be tricked out of the pain I suppose !!
