Surgery Costs 4 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
My brother has cubital - tunnel and is going for an EMG soon. He does not have insurance, and his pinky is already "clawed". I understand that there are major differences, but can you give us a guesstimate of how much surgery will cost? $10K, $50K, $100K?

Thanks for your help - I will send my brother here to check.

Hello Loko, and Welcome to the Site. Here are the prices they charged my insurance almost 2 years ago. Keep in mind that I was put under since there were 3 areas they addressed on mine (elbow, wrist and palm).

Surgery & equipment used in the OR: $12,700.00
Anesthesia: $1,152.00

Mine was out patient as well. I hope this helps. Take care. Again, welcome aboard!!

Mine was covered by insurance but they sent me a copy of the bill. All told I think it was a little under $15K but so you know, that included a carpal release and guyon release as well. All outpatient. The biggest cost - the operating room for one hour was like $9000!

Wow, different countries and similar cost! Pretty cool, wow! My spine surgeries are really high. If they have to go into my lumbar, I will have a million dollar back! Sheesh...scary when you start looking at what pieces of us cost to fix eh?

My ulnar transposition surgery (including two physician follow-up meetings) was $12,600. Fortunately, I had good health insurance and my co-pay was under $100.
