Is it common or unheard of to have CuTS in both arms? I know I have it on my left, but I seem to be experiencing the same symptoms as I did in the beginning with my right as well.

I have been diagnosed with CuTS in both arms. Have had surgery on the left and I have to watch the right like a hawk, if I want to avoid surgery. So no, it's not unheard of.

I'm also a bilateral CuTS sufferer. I have had both a decompression (3/09) and a submuscular transposition (10/09) on my left arm. I had some issues after the trans surgery, but am finally back on track. YEAH! I am going to OT 2 hours a week to strengthen my left arm. I'm finally able to tolerate exercise without my elbow blowing up like a balloon. My doc said 6-12 months to regain function. I feel like I'm making huge progress toward that goal.

I have tried everything to avoid having transposition on my right arm. Have done conservative treatment for almost a year now. Unfortunately I have progressed to the point where my ring and little fingers are clawing, the clumsiness in my hand is horrible and the pain is becoming a little more intense. I guess I'll have to schedule surgery in the next few weeks. Bummer. Well at least I'll have matching scars! LOL!

Mine started in the RH pinky/elbow and about a week later it started in the LH. Now it's been in both hands/elbows for just over a month. I've been splinting both arms at night for a week with no improvement.

I'm not sure how common it is to get this in both arms. I've gone 30+ years with no problems then suddenly it starts up in both arms, a week apart? I'm not a doctor, but I've got to believe that this kind of "symmetrical" onset implicates the neck or spine as the true origin of the problem. Or maybe collapsing of the collarbones due to bad posture, since the ulnar nerve travels underneath there. Elbows are designed to bend, so I find it hard to accept that simply bending them is the cause...but it certainly aggravates the problem once you're injured.

Good luck, everyone. This is a miserable ailment.

Hey all,

Bilateral CuTS here as well. Mine due to job related Repetitive Motion Injury (heavy lifting and flexing of both elbows). I only experienced the intense pain in both, but the rest of the symptoms have been getting progressively worse for the past 2 1/2 months. So, no, bilateral not unheard of, particularly when job related.
