ulnar nerve and carpol tunnel 7 Months ago Karma: 0
can anybody tell me are they likley to do both operations at the same time as have been told i need carpol tunnel op on my wrist and ulnar nerve op on elbow

Howdy Delphi and welcome to the site! If the issues are in the same arm, then yes they can perform both the Ulnar procedure, and the Carpal Tunnel at the same time.

Now if the elbow is one arm, and the Carpal Tunnel is in the other, I don't think I would do both at the same time unless you are really close and comfortable with your other half!

just had surgery for car pol tunnel and ulnar nerve had to have transposition as nerve very badly compressed early days yet. I have been given 3 weeks sic leave arm painful and badly bruised but thats expected< all a bit stiff but hoping will improve over coming weeks have been told will have to have r hand done later in year hoping to change to lighter job at work>

Just thought I would drop in and see how you are doing? The first week to 2 weeks are the roughest, then it gets better from there for most. Wishing you feeling better.

having stitches out of hand tomorrow arm bruising seems to be fading now only minor concern as i had transposition is when i rest arm on sofa starts to get cold and numb up again may be early days as nerve is just under skin may be sensitive will have to see what docs says regarding back to work as am a machinist and right arm not to clever

Machinist? I think if you have the time you can take, take a bit more time off. Let your arm heal and give more time for your nerve to settle down. Nerves hate being touched and moved from their home! (G) It sounds like you are coming along well. So glad to hear it!! Support *hug*
