Hi all

Quick summary - CuTS in both elbows for 8 weeks now

Symptoms:

Pain in both elbows (like an ache-somedays better than others)
No numbness
Sporadic tingling in one hand (left)
No muscle loss (that I can tell) or loss of grip strength or dexetrity

Treatment:

Vitamin B
Fish Oil and Flax seed oil
Night splints
Light massage and hot baths
Receiving physical therapy
Have seen Orthapedic surgeon and have been advised to give it 3 months conservative treatment
Am waiting for date for Nerve testing.
Taking it easy on the arms at all times.

Have to say over the last week or so my level of pain has decreased compared to what it was like a few weeks back. I also dont have that imaginary piece of string pulling sensation in my left pinkie anymore like I did.

Having said that I do have a sensation like a piece of string (prob my ulnar nerve) is being pulled taught across my tricep in the morning sometimes. And if I place my right hand over my left elbow with a finger on the ulnar nerve grove when I bend my arm into full flexion and straighten it when I get to about the 30 degree angle the ulnar nerve appears to jump every so slightly sometimes - it doesnt move left or right just 'up'. My right arm doesnt do this and I dont feel anything when this happens so for all I know it could have always been like that.

I have however noted odd cold patches like someones holding a cold piece of metal against my skin in odd places like on the front of my shoulder and again occassional sensations across my the back of my wrists and hands like someone had dragged a fingernail across my skin.

In view of this -pain intensity decreasing/tingling becoming less frequent, but pain on surface of skin across the wrists would you say these are good signs and to keep doing what Im doing or have you all had similar symptoms and still had surgery?

Decreasing pain and tingling is definitely a good sign. It sounds like your conservative treatment is helping.

Pain in your wrists may not be cubital. It may actually be CuTS' ugly big brother, carpal tunnel syndrome.

The surgery question is yours alone to answer. At some point your symptoms will either disappear or plateau. If they persist, you'll have to decide whether you can live with that level of pain. Of course, if the pain increases, then surgery is likely necessary.

As long as your symptoms are going in the right direction (decreasing), I'd continue with the conservative treatment until you see your doctor next. Good luck!
