Im only 3 days away from my decompression surgery, and I have to admit Im nervous! Ive never had surgery of any kind, so I dont really know what to expect. My ortho said he might have to do a transposition but he wont know until he gets in there.
My question to those post-op is, how long was your incision and now scar? Its not a big deal, it is what it is. Im just curious. Does anyone have any tips or helpful hints for me? Anything will help!
I have so much to do! Im in the middle of moving and am hoping to have everything done by Monday so that I can come home and be comfortable and not worry about anything after my surgery on Tuesday.
I hope all is well with everyone, this site is so wonderful. The support I have received is awesome!

Hey Katie,
Good luck tomorrow! Well each doc uses a little different technique. My incisions are about 5 inches long which I think is pretty typical. But I think KBT's is only about 2 inches long.
I sure hope your move went well. You shoul ddefinitely plan on taking it easy for a while.
Let us know how you're doing post-op.

Hey all, surgery went well. My surgeon did a subcutaneous transposition instead of a decompression because my nerve popped in and out when my elbow was bent. The pain right now is tolerable. The worst part for me is the nausea. They gave me a vicodin after I woke up from surgery but to be honest it didnt really do anything. I went to the hospital at 845am and didnt have surgery til about 1230pm. I went home around 3pm. My bandage is a simple ace bandage from halfway up my bicep to halfway down my forearm. Im surprised I can type right now, but the pain isnt so bad with it propped up on 2 pillows. I have am awful plactic-y taste in my mouth with is making me feel sick, but im assuming its from the breathing tube. I hope this surgery was worth it!!
