I know how you feel. I'm having surgery on my left wrist and left hand TOMORROW and I found the website yesterday, as to what is done in the surgery and such. all i was told was about the wrap afterward, some kind of soft "cast" (hard on bottom and "soft" on top???) and I would have a "long scar" which I don't care about scars from past surgeries anyway. I just want my arm repaired. I'll try and get on here and let you know how it goes for me.
I'll tell you this, and of this I'm sure, if your a Christian and you're saved, then put your trust in God. God has given me peace and reassurance that I'll be ok, even though I'm nervous about this surgery, I KNOW that I'll be ok. My fiance will be by my side too helping me with recovery and therapy and everything. I hope you have someone to help you.
Also, on parts of the cubital tunnel and carpal tunnel on that website -
www.cubital-tunnel.com, they said that a "local anesthesia" would be used for the carpal tunnel, also my anestheiologist said "local" and I told her NO WAY, I wanted to be knocked out cold for the whole thing. the next nurse I met with I made sure she knew I'm a wimp and I want to be knocked out. they put a tube down your throat but not a catheter I was told, its a 2 hours surgery, but I hope you can trust God to bring you through. I also hope you have someone to be there for you, that will help. I've had alot of things done to me, tests, surgeries and had no one. Now I have someone and its great just knowing that they are there waiting when you come out. I don't come out of anesthesia too quickly and I want to be given enough, extra even to make sure I'm out. I don't care how long it takes me to wake up. I told the nurse not to have the "make me wake up" like I was done in a previous surgery.
I know all this isn't positive, but some of it is and I hope you'll be encouraged to put your trust in God and know that God will take care of you.
