The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! 1 Year, 8 Months ago

My last appointment with my surgeon is June 8th. It will be the 9th time I've seen the man over the past 10 months. As much as I'm appreciative of all his work, I really don't want to see him again! So in honor of finishing (please let me be finished!) with surgery and surgeons, I'm posting 3 things that were good, bad, and ugly about CuTS surgery! Please feel free to add your own experiences. This one is for fun people!
The Good - Props to my surgeon. My CuTS incision is only 2 inches and the scar is barely noticible. To quote the doc, "I always thought I should have been a plastic surgeon."
The Bad - Showering with one arm in a garbage bag. What a royal pain that is!
The Ugly - Trying to cook anything left handed! Frying eggs was a really bad idea and my poor son had to hold the jar of peanut butter while I struggled to open it with my left hand. Spreading or cutting anything was definitely NOT pretty!

Hey KBT,
Your post totally made me laugh. I hope you can have one more visit with your surgeon and be done with him. I hope I will be at that point come July. 18 office visits and 3 surgeries in 19 months-I'm hoping that we're nearing the end of our relationship.
As for your good, your bad and your ugly...I totally get it. So many things that I totally took for granted, that when in a splint became hard and sometimes really comical.
Take care and good luck on the 8th!
Chris

Thanks Chris! The best of luck to you in July too. I am a teeny bit paranoid I'll end up back for the left elbow at some point but I really hope I'm just worrying over nothing. I didn't even add in my 2 family doc visits and 2 EMG/NCS visits into my total count of appointments, all for my crazy arms. I'm grateful for my outcomes and happy to be moving on and getting back to my life. I can't wait to be wrist splint free!
