Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I have Cubital Tunnel along with Carpal Tunnel and will be having submuscular transposition and Carpal Tunnel release surgery once I recover enough from my recent knee surgery. I will keep you posted on my surgical experience and keep you posted on my progress post-op.

This forum has been a great help to me and I appreciate the members sharing their experiences. I look forward to contributing to the forum by relating my journey through surgery and recovery.

Steve

Welcome Steve!

This site is a great place to share your questions, concerns, and fears. We've all been there in some way, shape, or form. I had Carpal Tunnel Release, Decompression of Guyon's Canal, and a Subcutaneuous Transposition on my right arm in October and just got my stitches out from a Carpal Tunnel Release and Guyon's Canal Decompression on the left hand. So many of us can tell you what you can really expect but most of all, we can offer you support from people who've been there.

Good luck with everything, including recovering from knee surgery. Yikes!

Hi I too am new the this forum. I am relatively new in my journey w/ CTS. When all the numbness/tingling and pain started I thought it was my neck b/c I have a chronic issue there having had a cervical fusion 8 yrs. ago. My pain was in my rt. shoulder and down my arm to my hand. To complicate matters I have OA and had CMC joint erosion in both hands, had surgery on rt. thumb/wrist almost 4 yrs. ago. Back to the ulnar issue. I had a bilat. EMG showing carpel tunnel in both hands, ulnar entrapement in the rt. cubital spacew. nerve pinching in my neck, shoulder and wrist-all rt. sided. I started PT-did for 8 wks.-the necka nd rt. shoulder are somewhat better, I also use a tens unit as needed. However the numbness and pain in the rt. forearm and hand continue, I wear a hand/wrist brace at night which helps alittle. The hand surgeron is wanting to do both the elbow and rt. carpel tunnel surgery at the same time, I can't afford to be out of work that long, so I have elected to do the carpel tunnel surgery first and see how much my s/s abate. Like most of the post I have read I did'nt have a specific trauma, I don't use computers much in my work, I am a nurse so I use my hands a lot. I'm reading many post that talk complications and relatively little improvement in the apin and function after decompression and repositioning of the ulnar nerve. Is it woth it?
