Webbie, been at this for ovr a year. Short history, elbow fracture from a fall. Bone healed but with cast release was frozen at 90 o and could not function normally. Sent to PT to improve mobility and was in excruciating pain, diagnosed RSD, same symptoms, skin blotchy,red-blue, temp. changes, nails growth rapid, shiny skin and extreme sensitivity(couldn't stnd for Dr. to touch me) Had ulnar Sub-Q surgery anyway and got some relief but did have to go to Pain clinic as I was delirious and almost catatonic with pain could'nt bear PT and kept at it until I got clinicaly functional. Still in PT, never wil be normal again but can work and keep working at my exercises. Hang in there it will get better but maybe not back like it was. Jennifaux

Ive been keeping an eye on my hands and now I have noticed that my knuckles are turning bright red.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

webbie,
what type of transposition did you have? subq or sub muscular?
it takes a long time for the nerve to heal and settle down.

Howdy kycloggerjen!!

I had the same sensitivity problems for about 4 months after the transposition. I bought a "sport elbow brace" to wear when I was out and about. It isn't a brace in the standard sense, but a stretchy cloth material. Very comfortable, and "little things" hitting, touching (the arm of a chair at the restaurant), brushing of clothes, didn't bother it. Hope that helps!!!

As for the numbness. Well, I still have that, but I also have progressive degenerative issues in my neck. I will probably have 2 more surgeries there! Some of the numbness I am sure is coming from that. Most times I don't notice it. It does feel "funny" when on an armrest or something, but I don't need to feel my elbow area for daily things. Good luck!!!

I had the subq in both my arms.
The right one is doing ok, The left one isnt.
I saw the ortho doc today and she really believes that I need to have submuscular done now. Believes the nerve is to tight and thats why Im having so much pain.
Im being refered to another doctor who does these.
ANyone else have submuscular ulnar nerve transposition? I was told today that the recovery time is alot longer than the normal Transposition. 5 to 7 months sound right to you?
